The Frond Systems are used to provide planned and preventative scour protection for new subsea installations and to rectify scour encountered at existing facilties.
SSCS has been approved to ISO 9001 2008 by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance Ltd.
The SSCS Frond Systems and Anchors have received DNV approval for the protection of subsea Renewables Energy Installations.
SSCS Frond Scour Control Mats
The SSCS Frond Mats are manufactured in the following standard sizes:
- Type 12 (T12) – 5m x 2.5m c/w 8 Anchors and 1.25 m high fronds.
- Type 25 (T25) – 5m x 5m c/w 16 Anchors and 1.25 m high fronds.
- Type 30 (T30) – 5m x 7.5m c/w 24 Anchors and 1.25 m high fronds.

Specially designed Mats, can also be manufactured to meet requirements such as defined structural geometrical arrangements, to enable accessibility at sites otherwise deemed inaccessible and to meet the demands of extreme environmental conditions.
SSCS Fronded Concrete Mattresses (FCM)
The SSCS FCM is a combined SSCS Frond Mat attached to a flexible concrete mattress.
Installation can be performed by divers or with the use of a work class ROV.
The FCMs have a standard frond height of either 1.25m or 0.625m and can be supplied with standard mattress block thicknesses of 150mm, 300mm and 450mm. Standard block density is 2.4 tonnes per cubic metre. Other density options of 1.8 to 4.8 tonnes per cubic metre are also available. Standard concrete base mould sizes are 10m x 3m and FCMs can therefore be supplied in any size within these mould dimensions.
SSCS Fronded Moulded and Formed Structures
The SSCS Fronds are also frequently attached to moulded concrete structures and fabric grout filled forms to provide edge and local scour protection.
