Q2. Do you design scour control layouts for a site or an installation?
A. Yes and using the most efficient deployment of the SSCS Frond Systems.
Q3. Can Frond Height be changed, and can you supply specially designed Frond Systems?
A. Yes taking fully into account the protection required and installation requirements.
Q4. Can your systems be installed without divers?
A. The scour control mats can be installed by divers when the pre-attached anchors are used to secure them to the seabed as these must be driven in by a diver operated hydraulic hammer or by diver or ROV when the Edge Weighted Mats (no anchors) are installed using a deployment frame.
Q5. Do you / Can you manufacture or assemble overseas?
A. Yes - we have already manufactured/assembled frond systems in the UK, Singapore, Australia, UAE and Trinidad.
Q6. How long do your frond systems last?
A. Our first installations were for Shell (UK) for scoured pipeline protection in 1984; the sediment banks formed over the fronded areas are still in place to this day.
Q7. Can your Frond systems be attached to structures, or sand bags?
A. Yes - subject to project specific design.
Q8. Fishermen often object to rock/gravel dumping and to concrete mattresses, do they object to your frond systems?
A. No. Our fronds are environmentally friendly and are endorsed by DEFRA and by the British National Federation of Fishermen's Organisations.
Q9. Do you have QA approval?
A. Yes. We are assessed by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance to ISO 9001 2008 and the Frond Systems are approved by DNV for Renewable Energy Installations.
